Jeju Island is South Korea’s most famous island and a natural wonder. Often called the “Hawaii of Korea,” Jeju offers a dramatically different landscape from the mainland — volcanic mountains, lava caves, waterfalls, and stunning coastlines.

The island is dominated by Hallasan, South Korea’s tallest mountain and an inactive volcano. Around it, you’ll find unique rock formations, black sand beaches, and lush green fields. Each side of the island has its own character: the east coast is calmer, the south is more tropical, and the west offers dramatic cliffs.

Jeju is perfect for outdoor lovers. You can hike volcanic craters, cycle along coastal roads, explore mysterious lava tubes, or simply relax on beautiful beaches. The island also has a distinct culture, with strong matriarchal traditions (Haenyeo — female divers) and unique local cuisine.

Whether you want adventure, relaxation, or scenic beauty, Jeju Island is one of the most rewarding destinations in South Korea.
